An apprenticeship prepares graduates and people who are reorienting themselves for a career as a sought-after and qualified specialist. The mix of theory in school and practice in the company provides trainees with extensive skills. Training skilled workers is an integral part of our human resources management at Siltec and a way we counteract the situation on the labor market.

This year, so-called “apprentices” have finished their apprenticeship at Siltec again. Both completed their apprenticeship as process mechanics for plastics and rubber technology with excellent results and within the standard training period of 3 years.

Congratulations Markus and Tobias!

During this time, both have gained comprehensive knowledge about the material silicone, the LSR injection molding process, the handling of injection molding machines and the error analysis and correction. In addition to technical knowledge, they have learned how to work in a manufacturing plant and have been able to develop soft skills such as teamwork, analytical thinking and customer orientation.

During the labor-intensive phase of preparing for the exam, both trainees had competent support from our trainers. “Despite the difficulties caused by the severe storm at the beginning of June and my brief absence during the preparations, both of them cooperated very well. They mastered all tasks.“ says the practical trainer Matthias Lacher.

We are glad that both Markus and Tobias will continue to work at Siltec and that we will keep them as colleagues. While Tobias will stay with our LSR department and strengthen our team hands-on, Markus is taking a path into production planning. Additionally, he will deal with robot programming and push our automation.

The next generation of apprentices is already ready for 2023. Their apprenticeship will start in September and they will work and learn in the commercial area as an industrial clerk and in the technical area as an industrial mechanic.

We are always looking for new colleagues, regardless of whether you are just starting your career or have already progressed. Look at our career portal or contact us by e-mail at We look forward to meeting you!
